I can’t deposit on pokerstars

I frequently hear this problem from US poker players: “i can’t deposit on pokerstars“.

Because of the current law in the US, most poker rooms don’t allow US players to join. There are poker sites like Pokerstars and FullTilt poker, which still allow US players. The problems with Pokerstars are the deposit methods for US players.

After some research and at the time of writing this article (February 24th; 2011) I found out, that the best method for US players is Western Union. However there’s a catch: western union has a transaction fee of $15 and the minimum deposit amount is $100. You will have to decide for yourself, if this is worth the investment, just keep in mind that Pokerstars is the biggest online poker room (at least give it a try).

For non-US players the best method is Moneybookers. It’s free and it’s quick.
